Create an online exam using Edofox

Create a new test

Go to 'Tests' section and then click on add test button as shown below to quickly create a new test

Test Parameters

Once clicked on “Add New Test” the below screen will appear where the you will have to select the Test details and other required parameters.

• Test Name - Name of the test. Give a proper name so that test can be identified better by students and other staff.

• Test templates - You can save any existing test as a template so that these parameters will be saved in the template and you can just select the template and all these parameters will be auto populated. If you don't have any template saved, nothing will show here.

• Mode of conduction - Online. Hybrid mode allows students to also appear online for the exam. Offline mode is strictly for offline exams such as OMR based exams.

• Test Interface - JEE/NEET/Generic etc. Test interface can be selected based on type of test you want to conduct. If you want to conduct a JEE Mains exam, so that JEE Mains rules are applied to the exam, go for JEE interface. Same goes for NEET interface. If the exam is not of any specific type, go for Generic.

• Classroom - Choose classroom(s) to which the test belongs to. You can select multiple classrooms here. Once selected, only the students from these classrooms will be able to attempt the test.

• No. of Questions - Total no of questions in this test

• Total marks - Total marks that can be obtained in this test. This shows up on student result page

• Start Time and End Time - Test start time and end time is the duration in which test will be accessible for students. If start time is today 5 PM and end time is tomorrow 5 PM, this means the test will be available to attempt for students from today 5 PM to tomorrow 5 PM. After tomorrow 5 PM, test will become expired.

• Test Duration - How long will the test run for. Shows a countdown timer on test page of this many minutes. After timer is over, test is automatically submitted.

• Allow Infinite Timeout - To conduct test in a strict manner, this feature if enabled, doesn't allow user to leave the exam screen for more than selected number of seconds. By default user can leave the exam window for as many seconds as it needs.

• Test start maximum times - Similar to above option, if you don't want students logging out and logging in for the test, limit the number of times students can leave and join back in a test

• Show Random Questions – Once enabled the questions in examination will shuffle for all the students and everyone will see different sequence. Helps to reduce malpractices.

• Show Result After Test – Once enabled, students will see the results immediately after submitting the test. You can avoid selecting this in case you want students to not see results and answer key immediately and you want to enable it later.

• Show Question Paper After Test - Once enabled, students will see the full question paper along with the solutions provided immediately after submitting the test. You can choose to enable it later after every student has submitted the exam.

• Align test time with Test start time – This option is useful if you want to conduct exam in a strict timing mode. In this case, students will have to start the exam at the exam start time (Selected before). If start time exam is at 5 PM and student starts the exam at 5.30, he would have lost half an hour of the exam.

• Align Test time with Student start time – This is another mode of strictly timed exam where students have to finish the exam within exam time after they start. E.g. If a student starts to solve some exam at 5 PM, then shuts down the laptop and comes back to continue the exam at 6 PM, he would have lost one hour of his time. Without this option, he won't loose time if the browser/app is closed

Advanced options

• Optimal network use - Use this option if you want to conduct test in a low internet connectivity. This feature allows students to download the exam in encrypted format in the Edofox app and then solve it in low connectivity as questions are already loaded in the device. Exam can still be attempted ONLY in the exam timing window.

• Get students Geo location - You can enable this option to find out GPS location of the students. Useful if all students are remote and you want to find out where they are attempting the exam from

• Image proctoring - This feature when enabled, takes snapshots of student every few seconds. This helps you understand if the student was alone during the exam and if any malpractice took place. Later, you can use our AI based process to get proctoring results and analyze if students exam was proper based on the score. This is useful for high stake exams.

• Video proctoring - This feature when enabled, allows you to enable live video based proctoring for the exam. You have to create proctoring sessions which will divide students into different live classrooms and then invigilators can monitor students live while they solve the exam. This is useful for high stake exams.

Exam Invite notification

Once exam is created, especially in case of Online exam, SMS/Email notifications are sent to students regarding the exam timing. If exam is scheduled for today (Start time is of today), then notifications are sent immediately, otherwise they are sent on the scheduled date in the morning.

Modify test

If admin wants to change any of the test parameters, using "Update Test Properties" user can change the details as below

When the admin wants a print question paper with the solutions and answer key, then it can do so from this option. Here, You also get the option of choosing whether to print in one column or two depending on the spacing you need
