How to conduct offline OMR based exam using Edofox

What is OMR software?

The main purpose of OMR software is to automatically extract data out of all types of OMR sheets for exam

What is the full form of OMR?

OMR is an abbreviated term for Optical Mark Recognition or Optical Mark Reader. OMR is being used for long time in the educational as well as survey industry to extract data and interpret it for detailed analysis and future use.

How to Setup OMR test

Create Test e.g. 'BIOLOGY OMR TEST' and fill up all the parameters as required. This test setup is exactly same as explained in online exam test setup

Only difference here is Mode of conduction needs to be Offline and you need to select the OMR template which are using to conduct the exam. You can contact us to create a custom OMR template for your institute or you can use default Edofox templates for JEE/NEET exams. We can white label the template for you as well.

Upload PDF question paper

After adding the test you will start seeing the new option of 'Upload PDF question paper'. This option is useful for offline test as for offline test you don't need individual questions to be added or cropped. You sometimes just have a PDF question paper which you are conducting offline exam for and just need to add it for reference. So, with this feature you can quickly add the complete PDF question paper and create sections for questions and quickly create the offline exam.

Here, user has to select the section, subject, weightage, negative marking, type of question, from and to question. You can create multiple sections for the exam and decide weightage and negative marking for each section. Creating sections is useful for exams like JEE/NEET where marking pattern depends on the section like in NEET you have best of 15 or in JEE you have best of 10 etc.

Once you have setup the sections, select PDF question paper and click on Upload button at the bottom to save the question paper.

Once you have setup the exam, make sure answer key is also added. You can add answer key from Answer key section

You can also use the other methods of adding questions like adding questions from question bank or auto generate questions from question bank as you did for online exam. Uploading PDF question paper directly is the fastest and easiest way of setting up offline exam.
